Fix: iTunes Error 3194 When Restoring/Updating iOS

If you've been trying to update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you might have encountered the iTunes error message saying that your iDevice could not be restored because an unknown error occurred (3194).

Getting error 3194 is most probably because you have been using TinyUmbrella, it has set your system's host file pointing to Cydia's SHSH caching server.

To fix iTunes error 3194, simply open TinyUmbrella, uncheck Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit in Advanced tab. Open iTunes and try upgrade again. The error message shouldn't appear anymore.

Absinthe 2.0.4 is easy to use but before you jailbreak, there is something you need to know.

Before jailbreak, make a backup in iTunes.
If you have passcode lock, disable it.
If you have a jailbroken iDevice and don't want to lose all your Cydia apps after jailbreak it, here is to backup them.

Steps:

1. Download Absinthe 2.0
Absinthe v2.0.4 (Win) Absinthe v2.0.4 (Mac) Absinthe v2.0.4 (Linux)
2. Extract Absinthe 2.0 and connect your iDevice via data cable. No need to open iTunes.
3. Open absinthe, once it discover your iDevice, the jailbreak button is available to click. Clicking it Absinthe will begin to jailbreak process.

4. After it is done, you will see the Cydia app in your iDevice.

Add "Open in Chrome" Bookmark in iOS Safari

Google Chrome for iOS platform is the most popular free iOS app since the release in last week. The sign shows Chrome is a welcome addition to iOS users. However, due to the Apple's restrictions to third-party iOS web browsers, the users can't change their default web browser in iOS. It could be the security reason but it seems the actions of Apple allowing third-party web browsers for download in App Store contradict their restrictions for changing the default web browser in iOS. The choice of web browser needs to be universally changeable, otherwise it never feels right to use third party web browser in iOS.

The default web browser in iOS can be changed by a free jailbreak tweak called Browser Changer. It also allows you to open the Home Screen Shortcuts with the browser of your choice. Browser Changer can be found in BigBoss repo. See the Browser Changer in action:

If you don't wish to jailbreak your iOS device, there is a workaround with the helps of javascript code by Jon Abrams which will launch the current page in Chrome by tapping the bookmark. Here's how to do it:

1. Copy this code:
javascript:location.href='googlechrome'+location.href.substring(4);
2. Launch Safari and bookmark any webpage you like.
3. Open Safari bookmarks, tap Edit button.
4. Rename it to "Open in Chrome" or any name you want.
5. Replace the URL by pasting the javascript code.

This bookmark will open the current page you are visiting in Safari with Chrome. Not the best solution but definitely come in handy on non-jailbroken devices. For your information, the Home Screen Shortcuts won't work because the URL can't be customized.

Tips menjadikan iPhone sebagai Modem WiFi

Tidak habis2 rasa nya kalau kita bahas tentang iPhone, karena nama nya ja SmartPhone, jadi walaupun iPhone itu telpon pintar tapi kita harus lebih pintar dari dia, kita harus dapat mengendalikan nya jangan kita di bodohin nya,

okay lah.. Sekarang kita akan membahas tentang tentang tips/cara menjadikan iPhone sebagai modem WiFi, maksud gini, iPhone kita akan kita jadikan sebagai modem, tapi tanpa perantaran/menyambungkan melalui USB, tapi kita langsung bisa melayari internet di komputer tanpa membutuhkan USB lagi, mantap khannn....!! Ni sedikit cerita, karena saya selalu membuka internet di laptop tapi dulu nya selalu menjadikan iPhone sebagai modem yg di hubungkan melalui USB, sehingga iPhone menjadi panas, dan kemungkin besar kalau iPhone udah terlalu panas akan rusak, kan sayang kalau iPhone yg kita sayangi tiba-tiba rusak di sebabkan terlalu panas, nah.. Untuk menghindari hal-hal yg tidak kita ingankan terjadi inilah solusi yg terbaik karena dengan cara menjadikan iPhone sebagai modem WiFi iPhone kita akan relatif normal dan tidak panas walaupun kita layari internet di laptop berjam-jam!

Bahan-bahan yg kita perlukan tidak terlalu susah kita dapat dan bisa kita perolehi secara gratis, tapi software ini khusus untuk iPhone yg telah melakukan proses JailBreak,bagi anda yg udah jailbreak silakan cari software nya di cydia,

So.. Inilah cara nya yg harus anda perhatikan baik2,
1. Buka cydia dan klik "search"
2. Ketik "Mywi" dalam kotak pencarian yg telah di sediakan,
3. Install mywi tersebut,

Tapi jika setelah anda cari di cydia dan mywi nya tidak ada, anda harus melakukan cara ini terlebih dahulu, setelah tutorial ini selesai baru anda lakukan cara di atas dari no 1/3, karena kemungkina juga di cydia anda belum ada mywi nya!
Nah perhatikan baik2,
1. Buka cydia di iPhone anda,
2. Pilih "Manage"
3. Touch di tulisan "Sources"
4. Pilih "Edit" yg ada di posisi kanan atas cydia anda,
5. Sentuh "Add" yg berada di kiri cydia anda,
6. Lalu akan muncul kotak biru, dan anda isi "sinfulipnonerepo.com/" tepat di depan tulisan "http://"
7. Touch tulisan "Add Source"

Okay.. Kalau itu udah anda add, barulah anda cari balik Mywi nya di cydia, dan install sampai selesai, kalau udah install ikuti lagi cara2 berikut ;)

Inilah cara menjadikan iPhone sebagai mode WiFi:
1. Silakan on kan WiFi di setting iPhone nya terlebih dahulu.
2. Buka software (mywi) yg anda download tadi,
3. Touch tepat pada gambar Laptop nya yg ada tulisan "Laptops"
4. Pilih Fatest setup: WiFi Hotspot,
5. Lalu "WiFi Hotspot" di on kan kalau masih dalam keadaan off,
6. Hotspot Name, itu bisa anda gantikan nama nya sesuai dengan kemauan anda,
7. Buka laptop anda dan cari dan connect WiFi nya sesuai dengan nama yg anda isi tadi di Mywi
8. Selamat menjelajahi internet via iPhone mode WiFi.


Oya.. Anda juga bisa share WiFi iPhpne anda ke teman2 anda dengan menggunakan software mywi tersebut.. Tapi di posting lain akan saya bahaskan nya. Happy WiFi... Hahahay... :D
